Cottage Tour, (6th Annual) presented by the Cannon Beach Historical Society. September, 2009. Check back for 2009 details. In 2008, the day’s events began at 1130am at the Visitor and Information Center with a $15 Luncheon & Lecture with Jill Grady, author of “Cannon Beach Cottages”, followed promptly by a $10 self-guided Cottage Walking Tour. At the completion of the tour, 4pm, all were welcomed to the CB History Center & Museum (corner of Spruce & Sunset) for a Wine, Cheese & Music Reception and Raffle Drawing for a custom designed Quilted Wall Hanging, created especially by Jean Williams. Stormy Weather Arts Festival, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Nov 6 - Nov 8, 2009) is Cannon Beach's fall celebration of the arts. Cannon Beach, home to many galleries and artists, comes alive with creativity. The galleries, shops, restaurants and motels all get in on the act - featuring musicians, artists, performances, and exhibits throughout town. Friday nights Quick Draw event is an art lovers dream. Up to 10 or more artists have one hour to create a piece ready to be sold in the auction that follows. Spring Unveiling of Art in Cannon Beach - First Weekend in May, 2010 - The 10th Annual event. Local galleries host local, national and international artists, featuring new works and demonstrations specially created for the occasion. Sculpture Without Walls - Cast your vote First Weekend in May, 2010 for the sculpture of your choice of those displayed throughout town. Sculpture Without Walls brings the work of regional artists to Cannon Beach in the form of outdoor sculpture. A juried selection of 5 new sculptures is placed around town. The public votes on their favorite. All sculpures remain on display for the year, and the winning one is purchased by the city for permanent display. [more]

Third-Annual Cannon Beach Film Festival - June ?-? (2010 date is yet to be determined . The 2009 event celebrated "Paul Newman through the Decades." All films were shown at the Coaster Theatre in downtown Cannon Beach. Friday, June 5 - 6:30 PM was a Kick-off Wine Reception; Open to the Public. 7:30 PM - Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Saturday, June 6 - 3 PM - What A Way To Go. 5 PM - Rachel, Rachel. 7 PM - Sometimes a Great Notion. Sunday, June 7 - 12 PM - The Hustler ("double feature" with Color of Money). 2 PM - The Color of Money. 4 PM Author Matt Love speaks on "Sometimes a Great Party" (adventures during filming of Sometimes a Great Notion on the Oregon coast) 5 PM - Mr. & Mrs. Bridge. 46th. Annual Sand Castle Contest - Saturday, June 19, 2010. Fun for the whole family. It's hard to tell whether the participants or spectators enjoy this event more. It all begins just after the morning high tide, and ends about 12 hours later as the next high tide reclaims the beach. The emphasis is on fun. Make your lodging reservations now and plan to be on the beach early to join in the excitement. The layout crew begins at daybreak. Sculpting begins around 930 am. Low tide is at 12:45 pm and high at 7:30 pm. All cars must be off the beach around 5pm. Volunteers are always welcome. Click for more info and photos of the past events. Anyone can participate.

Plein Air and More - 2010 date still to be determined. In 2009, Fifteen artists demonstrated how to paint, sculpt and photograph Cannon Beach, showing us the town and coastline through their eyes. Artists were at work throughout town from 11am to 4pm. Once completed, the artist took their work to the gallery representing them and it was available for purchase. 2009 info at Plein Air and More
